Our Team

Steven W. Brennan

Partner

Steven Brennan has more than three decades of experience advocating on behalf of individual, corporate and institutional clients at both the trial and appellate level.

Mr. Brennan’s practice includes a wide range of criminal, select civil and regulatory litigation. He has appeared as counsel before all levels of Court in the Province of Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Ontario, as well as the Federal Court and the Supreme Court of Canada.

Mr. Brennan defends individual citizens charged with all manner of criminal offences. He has argued numerous jury trials, including a number of complex and high profile homicide cases. He also provides advice and representation to individual and corporate clients in civil matters involving a variety of contract, employment, estate and tort-related disputes. In addition, Mr. Brennan appears regularly before a wide range of tribunals and disciplinary bodies, advocating on behalf of individual and institutional members of licensed and regulated professions.

Steven Is a graduate of the University of Manitoba. He received his undergraduate degree in 1986, his Law degree in 1989 and was called to the Manitoba Bar in 1990. He frequently lectures on a variety of legal topics in both professional and educational settings. He is a member of the Law Society of Manitoba, the Canadian Bar Association, the Manitoba Bar Association, the Advocates‘ Society and the Criminal Defense Lawyers Association of Manitoba.

Christopher G. Gamby

Partner

Chris Gamby is a Partner and practices in the areas of criminal, regulatory and select civil litigation.

Chris has appeared before the Manitoba Provincial Court and the Court of Queen’s Bench. He believes that every accused person is entitled to legal representation and vigorously defends individual citizens in all criminal and regulatory matters. Chris frequently represents individuals in Charter litigation, Impaired Driving cases, Controlled Drugs and Substances Act cases, and Firearms related offences. He also represents clients in civil matters which encompass a variety of contractual and tort-related disputes.

Born and raised in Manitoba, Chris then traveled abroad attending law school at the University of Leicester (England). He received his Law degree in 2013 and was called to the Manitoba Bar in 2015.

Chris is a member of the Law Society of Manitoba and the Criminal Defense Lawyers Association of Manitoba, serving on the executive since 2018 as Director of Communications for the CDLAM. In addition, he serves on the Board of Directors of several community-based organizations.

Jordan E. Smith

Partner

Jordan Smith is a Partner with the firm. Her practice focuses on criminal and civil litigation, as well as wills and estates, including probate and estate administration.

Jordan has appeared before all levels of Court within the Province of Manitoba. She defends individuals charged with all manner of criminal and regulatory offences. She also represents clients in civil matters, involving disputed wills and estates, tort-related issues, and personal injury claims. In addition, Jordan frequently advocates on behalf of clients in administrative proceedings including CFS registry applications. She has also assisted numerous individuals as they navigate the mental health detention review process.

Jordan received her bachelor‘s degree from Brandon University in 2011. She subsequently attended the University of Manitoba where she received her Juris Doctor degree in 2014, graduating on the Dean’s Honour List for excellence in academic achievement. She was called to the Manitoba Bar in 2015.

Jordan is a member of the Law Society of Manitoba and the Criminal Defense Lawyers Association of Manitoba. She is an active volunteer with community-based animal advocacy organizations.

Pooja B. Patel-Brar

Partner

Pooja Patel-Brar is a Partner with the firm focusing on solicitors’ transactions and business law.

Pooja represents individuals in both residential and commercial real estate transactions, as well as Wills and estate matters. In addition, she provides services to the business community in the areas of incorporations, share transactions, partnership agreements, franchise sales and acquisitions, leases and a variety of other contractual arrangements.

Pooja holds both Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Commerce degrees from the University of Manitoba. Following her undergraduate education, Pooja attended law school at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, British Columbia. She received her Juris Doctor degree in 2018 and was called to the Manitoba Bar in 2019. Outside of the practice of law, Pooja serves on the Board of Directors of several community-based organizations.

Pooja is multilingual and provides legal services in English, Gujarati, Hindi, and Punjabi.

Evan M. Chrusch

Associate

Evan Chrusch is an Associate Lawyer with Brennan Partners LLP. He practices in the areas of criminal, regulatory, and select civil litigation, as well as solicitor’s transactions.

Evan is a lifelong resident of Winnipeg. He completed his undergraduate education at the University of Manitoba where he received his B.A. (Hons) degree in 2016. He then attended the University of North Dakota to study Law, receiving his Juris Doctor degree in 2019, and subsequently received his Certificate of Qualification from the National Committee on Accreditation of the Federation of Law Societies of Canada.

Evan articled with the firm and was called to the Manitoba Bar in 2022.

Marie Gravoso

Associate

Marie Gravoso is an Associate Lawyer with Brennan Partners LLP. She practices in the areas of residential and commercial real estate, wills and estates, as well as solicitor’s transactions.

Marie is a graduate of the University of Manitoba. She received her undergraduate degree in 2016, her Juris Doctor degree in 2021 and was called to the Manitoba Bar in 2022.

Marie is active within the Filipino community through volunteer service with several community-based organizations. She is fluently bilingual and provides legal services in both English and Tagalog .
